This project shows the documentation of my domestic life while living in Italy. My day-to-day life change so dramatically, but my personal routines and habits followed me throughout the day. Sticking with these habits kept me grounded during a shifting time.
Inspired by the film The Truman Show, I decided to document my habits with a unique point-of-view. I used the style of the film to develop my own style of photography for this series. The photos feel intimate and close, yet there is a slight sense of intrusion as a viewer.
I also took inspiration from Cindy Sherman's Untitled Film Stills series. Her self-portrayal and staged aesthetic helped solidify the visual direction of the photo series. I draw from her embedded narrative to tell a story of my own.
